Sunny Days Learning Academy is a licensed, small preschool serving families in Boise, Idaho. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment with clear expectations that help children and families feel supported and confident.

Licensing & Oversight

Sunny Days Learning Academy is fully licensed and regulated by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW). All licensing, inspections, and compliance are handled at the state level through IDHW.

Classroom Ratios & Group Size

We intentionally maintain low ratios to support strong relationships and individualized care. Our child-to-teacher ratio is 5:1, allowing teachers to closely support each child’s academic, social, and emotional development. Our small class sizes also help create a calm, structured environment where children feel seen, supported, and successful throughout their day.

Program Structure

Sunny Days Learning Academy offers Toddler and Preschool programs designed to support children’s growth from early independence through kindergarten readiness.

Our program is:

• Focused on independence, confidence, and social-emotional skills
• Balanced with early academic foundations

Additionally, two members of our teaching staff hold Montessori certifications, which supports consistency and quality in our classroom practices while remaining flexible and responsive to each child’s needs.

Hours & Calendar

Our schedule is designed to support families seeking a consistent, school-focused preschool environment.

• Days: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 7:45 am – 5:00 pm
• Calendar: School-year program aligned with Boise School District holidays, with a summer schedule

Health & Safety Practices

The health and safety of children and staff are non-negotiable priorities at Sunny Days Learning Academy. We maintain clear, consistent practices that support a safe and healthy environment.

Our safety practices include:

• Secure check-in and release only to authorized adults
• All staff are trained in CPR and First Aid
• Compliance with Idaho immunization requirements or approved exemptions
• Clear illness exclusion policies to reduce the spread of illness
• Supervised outdoor play and well-maintained indoor environments

Families receive full details about our health and safety policies in the parent handbook upon enrollment.

Guidance & Discipline Philosophy

We use a Positive Discipline approach grounded in Montessori principles, Conscious Discipline, and emotional regulation through respectful communication.

Guidance at Sunny Days focuses on teaching skills rather than punishment. We do not use physical discipline, humiliation, or exclusionary practices that compromise a child’s dignity or well-being. Our goal is to help children learn self-regulation, problem-solving, and respectful interactions in a supportive setting.
